Philosophy
The Italian metropolis of Milan is famous for its elegant design and fashion, numerous art treasures, as well as its unique architecture and world-famous gothic cathedrals. The architect Peter Külby was staying in Milan for a short while, and on one summer day he was walking through the city’s streets and discovered in a backstreet, the famous Via Montenapoleone, a green court yard between two houses. This represented an idyllic oasis to Peter – a relaxing refuge in the middle of a big city. This inspired him to design a new hotel and a condominium in Berlin, with beautiful connected gardens, in the middle of our bustling city.
This vision has become reality.
The hotel was built with modern and minimalist design at its heart. Its quality culinary offer is represented by a restaurant and bar that seats up to 51 people, a cosy lounge area for having a relaxing time in the afternoon or evening, and a meeting room with views out to our beautiful garden and high-quality designed courtyard.
The beautiful gardens at “The Yard” are designed by the Swiss landscape architect Enzo Enea, and are a light-flooded work of art in a class of their own. These impressions are represented on all seven floors of our hotel and give the rooms a calm, warm and welcoming atmosphere. We expect a personal highlight for you of our boutique hotel will be the delightful wellness area which is home to a spacious indoor swimming pool, a Finnish sauna, a steam bath, and a fitness corner with direct access into our beautiful garden. Here you can escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
